JAMES LAPINE is a director, playwright, author, and librettist. He has been the recipient of three Tony Awards, a Peabody Award, and the Pulitzer Prize. His book Putting It Together: How Stephen Sondheim and I created “Sunday in the Park with George,” which was released last summer and was a New York Times bestseller, has recently been released in paperback.
